Virginia Tech College of Architecture, Arts, and Design We are a community of courageous architects, designers, artists, performers, and creators.

AAD is composed of four schools sharing a vision to understand and shape the spaces and places where we live, work, and play. The College of Architecture and Urban Studies is composed of four schools:
• The School of Architecture + Design, including architecture, industrial design, interior design and landscape architecture;
• The School of Public and International Affairs, including urban affai

rs and planning, public administration and policy and government and international affairs;
• The Myers-Lawson School of Construction, which includes building construction in the College of Architecture and Urban Studies and construction engineering management in the College of Engineering;
• The School of the Visual Arts, including programs in studio art, visual communication and art history.

From leading The Marching Virginians to excelling in engineering, Mitchell Dreffer made his mark at Virginia Tech.

As drum major for the Marching Virginians, Dreffer led the band onto the field at Lane Stadium, creating unforgettable moments for Hokie Nation.

A senior in the College of Engineering, he majored in mining and minerals engineering with a minor in green engineering and was named the Outstanding Senior for his department.
