Fraternity & Sorority Life at VT is made up of 5400+ students, 61 chapters, 4 councils, 1 community!

Fraternity and Sorority Life at Virginia Tech is guided by six strategic goal areas that provide a framework for individual and collective success. Those strategic goal areas are as follows:

Promote Lifelong Learning by increasing opportunities for involvement at all membership stages and infusing elements of membership with a sense of Ut Prosim for a lifetime. Empower Personal Growth by fostering opportunities to understand personal strengths and learn life skills as a part of the interfraternal experience. Inspire Intellectual Development by cultivating a culture of inquisitiveness within the living, learning, and leading environments. Cultivate Leadership by offering innovative and inspiring leadership development opportunities. Encourage Philanthropy and Service by connecting students' strengths with opportunities and needs in the world, weaving a true sense of Ut Prosim into the interfraternal experience. Celebrate Our Shared Values of Brotherhood and Sisterhood through member development, chapter collaborations, and living the values of our organizations.

Congratulations to Victor Haines on being recognized as the September 2026 Pike of the Month!

As the Chapter’s New Member Educator, Victor helped guide the chapter to the highest new member GPA in the IFC community while also serving as house supervisor and contributing to recruitment and social efforts. Congratulations, Victor, on this well-deserved recognition and for exemplifying the impact fraternity leadership can have within our community!

Our community is continuing to show what Ut Prosim looks like in action! From serving our local community to lending a helping hand, our Greeks are giving back and making an impact. Additional volunteer opportunities and support for residents in need are available on October 24 and November 7.

Meet Gavin Beasley of Kappa Alpha Order!

For Gavin, fraternity life has been about finding a community that feels like home and discovering new opportunities to lead, serve, and grow. Through his chapter, he has built lifelong friendships, made meaningful memories, and gained the confidence to get involved beyond the fraternity.

Whether serving in leadership roles across campus, supporting his brothers, or creating memories at chapter traditions like annual formal, Gavin hopes to leave his chapter better than he found it by investing in the people around him.

Virginia Tech represented well at UIFI this summer! 🧡

Five Hokies took part in the Undergraduate Interfraternity Institute (UIFI), joining students from across the country for leadership development, connection, and reflection on the future of fraternity and sorority life.

We’re also proud to have one of our staff members serve as a small group facilitator, helping create meaningful learning experiences for students throughout the institute.

We’re excited to see how these Hokies bring what they learned back to our community!
