This year the winners of the student categories will receive a $125 prize.

Program name: Computer Science at the Steger Center (CS@SC 2027)
Overview: CS@SC is a semester-long program that offers different courses for students to experience a multitude of CS topics through class sessions, real-life projects with international partners and clients, and coordinated travel time to different European cities. The Steger Center offers a unique Living-Learning Community (LLC) for VT students, which integrates classrooms, dorms, and community spaces in an immersive international experience. This program aims at providing CS@VT students the opportunity to understand the international aspects of the CS field through living, studying, and building software solutions abroad.

Courses offered:
• Mobile Software Development - CS 3714
• Data Analytics and Visualizations - CS 3654
• Computer Science Capstone - CS 4094
• Italian Language - ITAL 1105/1106

Destination: Switzerland (The Steger Center for International Scholarship in Riva San Vitale)

Travel dates: January 14 - May 5, 2027

We’re kicking off the year by flipping the script on our study abroad exchange series and celebrating the incredible students who have traveled to Virginia Tech for their exchange experience.

This year, we’re welcoming almost 40 students from 12+ countries across all SIX inhabited continents!

Before jumping into classes and campus life, our exchange students took part in a robust orientation covering safety, wellness, community engagement, and culture. They’re ready to explore, connect, and make the most of their time as Hokies!
