Two Virginia Tech College of Engineering alumni are helping shape the future of transportation in the greater Washington, D.C., metro area. 🚈

Martha Gross '10, '11 and Doran Bosso '06, '08 are playing key leadership roles in the Purple Line, a transformative 16-mile light-rail project that will expand public transit access and strengthen connections across Maryland.

Both credit their Virginia Tech education with preparing them for a project of this magnitude.

Fox ’89, M.S. ’93 will encourage graduating seniors to embrace lifelong learning, resilience, and what it means to be a Hokie. He also will be honored as the college’s Distinguished Alumni Award recipient

Each year, Virginia Tech student teams partner with industry organizations to gain hands-on experience through senior design projects. 👏

This team worked with Carter Machinery to create a standalone tracking system that helps technicians monitor engine repairs in real time.
