Having the right skills and knowing how to utilize them is vital for both job seekers and those who are currently employed.

To help, as part of the partnership between Camden County College’s Workforce Training and Continuing Education department and Education-To-Go, we are pleased to announce the availability of 10 free self-paced tutorial courses that highlight a mix of hard and soft skills essential to succeed in today's rapidly changing job market.

These courses offer career leverage for a range of students as well as professionals seeking career development opportunities as circumstances around employment continue to change. These free courses will be available through June 30, 2020.

Adults and high school juniors and seniors interested in learning about career training and apprenticeship opportunities that will be offered in the fall through the Career and Technical Institute of Camden County College are invited to attend an Open House on Thursday, January 16th at Camden County Technical Schools, 343 Berlin Cross Keys Road, Building 4, Sicklerville, NJ.

Attendees will be able to meet the instructors and tour classrooms and labs. Registration representatives will be available to answer questions and assist in the enrollment process. Some of the courses offered include Apprenticeships, Automotive Technology, Baking and Pastry Arts, Carpentry, CDL-B Bus Driver Training, Certified/Registered Medical Assistant, Computer Technician Support Specialist, Cosmetology, Culinary Arts/Restaurant Operations, Dialysis Technician, Electric Residential, HVAC, Hydro-Technology (Plumbing), Patient Care Technician, Pharmacy Technician, Veterinary Exam Room Assistant, and Welding Technology.

Need a haircut? A touch up or highlights? How about a manicure or facial? All of these services and more can be performed at the Career and Technical Institute of Camden County College.

All work is performed by students who have obtained their permit under the direction of our licensed Cosmetology Instructors for a nominal fee (see pricelist).

Appointments not necessary. First come, first served. Cash or checks only accepted for payment. A release must be signed before any service can be performed and will be available at the registration desk.

Check in on Thursday nights only between 4 pm and 6 pm for chemical services or between 4 pm and 7 pm for non-chemical services.

ADULTS: LEARN A CAREER IN LESS THAN A YEAR

In as little as 10 months, the Career and Technical Institute (CTI) of Camden County College, can help you learn the skills you need to make yourself more marketable. The research is conclusive, the more you learn, the more you will earn in your lifetime.

At the Career and Technical Institute, we can teach you the skills you need to get started in a career, to earn a promotion, or make a career change. Classes are conveniently located at either Camden County College, or the Gloucester Township Campus or the Pennsauken Campus of Camden County Technical Schools (CCTS). We’ve been in the business of career training for over 50 years and are committed to helping you succeed and reach your goals.

Our instructors use the latest technology in courses that are in demand. We offer training programs in numerous specialized areas including business, health, technology, automotive, construction trades, baking/pastry arts, and cosmetology. Please note: These courses are career based only; you will not take the academic courses required to earn a college degree.

Students are awarded a certificate of completion upon successful completion of a program which consists of anywhere from 6 to 28 hours per week. Space is limited for Fall classes so call 856-374-4955, email [email protected], or visit camdencc.edu/ce for more information.

APPRENTICE COURSES

In order to qualify as an apprentice, it is necessary to be employed and registered as an apprentice. This can be accomplished by having your employer contact John Hourani, Camden County Apprenticeship Coordinator, at 856-261-9462.

United States Department of Labor Registered Apprenticeships are offered in Electrical, HVAC and Plumbing as well as many Pre-Apprenticeship programs in areas such as: Certified/Registered Medical Assistant, Dialysis Technician, Patient Care Technician, Computer Technician Support Specialist, Pharmacy Technician, and many other in-demand programs.

Come in and try out your program of interest during the week of December 3-7, 2018!

Prospective students will get a one-hour window of time to come in and get a hands-on look at the trade they are considering before making any financial commitment. All “Test Drive” hours will be while the class is in session so times per class will vary. Anyone interested in participating should RSVP online at https://www.camdencc.edu/technical-test-drive/. RSVP’s are required for participation.

Registration is currently open. The classes that are participating include: AutoCAD Level 3, Automotive Technology, Baking & Pastry, Carpentry, Certified/Registered Medical Assistant, Computer Technician Support Specialist, Cosmetology, Electrical Residential, HVAC, Hydro Technology, Veterinary Exam Room Assistant, and Welding.
