The latest release of the Brave-Butters-Kelley Indexes (BBKI) has the coincident indicator at 0.0 for April, a modest uptick from our March estimate. This suggests the economy has continued to progress near trend despite the elevated degree of uncertainty: https://www.ibrc.indiana.edu/bbki/

The BBKI is a barometer of where the economy is and where it might be heading in the future.

Of Indiana’s 92 counties, 20 gained working-age population (ages 18-64) and 45 gained prime working-age population (ages 25-44) between 2010 and 2024.

The latest release of the Brave-Butters-Kelley Indexes (BBKI) has the coincident indicator at -0.2 for March, a slight downtick from our estimate for February of 0.1. The slight decrease in the March read in part reflects a decline in industrial production, a slowdown in the growth of real personal consumption expenditures, and a decrease in the labor force participation rate

The BBKI is a barometer of where the economy is and where it might be heading in the future.
