🧬💻 The 5th Human Reference Atlas (HRA) Hackathon is underway!
Today and tomorrow, researchers, programmers, P*s, and key team members come together virtually and in Berlin for two days of collaboration, coding, and building!
Teams from HuBMAP, SenNet, CFDE, KPMP, and the Whole Person Project are joining forces to explore how the Human Reference Atlas (HRA) can connect with and support other human atlassing efforts.

The goal? Turn ideas into action. 🚀
🔹 Tackle focused coding and data projects
🔹 Build MVPs and prototypes
🔹 Strengthen connections across programs
🔹 Advance the future of human atlas research

We can’t wait to see what comes out of two days of great minds, great data, and great collaboration!

The Visualization Viewpoint “Challenges and Opportunities for Theory-Grounded Data Visualization in Extended Reality” has been published in the July–August issue of IEEE Computer Graphics and Applications: https://lnkd.in/gDhZCMyv

In this work, Andreas Bueckle, Christiane V. R. Hütter, Renata Raidou, Chris Bryan, Peter Mindek, Hannes Kaufmann, Niklas Elmqvist, Jörg Menche, and Katy Borner synthesize key challenges and opportunities for theory-grounded data visualization in extended reality (XR), examining how established visualization principles translate to and expand within immersive environments.

🎉 What an incredible few days of collaboration and innovation!
The Human Reference Atlas & Whole Person Physiome (WPP) Hackathon brought together researchers from Indiana University and partner institutions to advance AI-ready biomedical data and computational research.

Throughout the hackathon, participants shared ideas, tackled complex challenges, and built new connections that will help shape the future of . The energy, creativity, and teamwork on display made this event a tremendous success! ✨
A huge thank you to everyone who participated, contributed their expertise, and helped make this hackathon such an inspiring experience. We look forward to seeing the exciting discoveries and collaborations that grow from this work. Our results will be available soon, so keep an eye out! 👀
