Get to Know the IU Bloomington Chapter Leaders

Cait Clute is the Vice President of the NSLS IU Bloomington Chapter. She is a junior majoring in Human Biology and minoring in German, Psychology, and Medical Sciences. She currently works at the SRSC as a personal trainer. Her future goals include becoming a physical therapist and mother.

Cait joined NSLS in April of 2019 and was immediately drawn to the opportunity to improve her leadership skills, as well as the scholarship opportunities they offer. When asked about her executive board experience, Cait said: “Throughout my time on the executive board, I have learned more about what it means to be a part of a team and be a leader within the team.”

When she is not participating in NSLS activities, she is traveling with the Quidditch Club, where she plays both be**er and chaser positions, and serves as the club secretary. She also volunteers every Sunday morning with the worship team at the H2O church.

Jessica Lawson, President of the National Society of Leadership and Success IU-Bloomington Chapter, is a senior double majoring in Outdoor Recreation, Parks and Human Ecology: Natural Resources in the School of Public Health and Animal Behavior in the College of Arts & Sciences. She is also double minoring in Biology and Psychology.
Jessica joined NSLS in the spring of 2019. She became Co-President along with Grant Rachford and took over as President upon his graduation in May.
In her own words: “NSLS feels like a home-away-from-home. It’s both new and different, but still giving that foundation for growth. Having an advisor on campus and having an advisor who is located in the national office provides a level of comfort as I learn more about being a leader and figuring out what works for me and my teams and what does not. That balance of advisors lets me hear from someone who is close to the situation and from one who isn’t that both care and their diverse experiences make me feel more confident in my own actions and decisions.”
Jessica has also served as the Vice President for the School of Public Health Student Government for the past two years and is a member of the Recreation Club.
In her free time, she volunteers at Wild Care Inc. a wildlife rehabilitation center. Her ultimate career goal is to become a college professor. She calls herself a Jill-of-All-Trades and enjoys a variety of activities ranging from public speaking to video games.
