The Center for Lifelong Learning Culinary Arts program offers a variety of hands-on class options in the professional facilities of Ivy Tech Bloomington's School of Culinary Arts & Hospitality Management, featuring breads, pastries, sauces, soups, and more this fall. Our noncredit classes are open to the public and welcome beginners or more seasoned participants who are interested in growing their skills and discovering new recipes, learning about baking and nutrition science, or just enjoying the experience!

Doug Hughes will be teaching another round of Retirement Planning Today courses in early October at Ivy Tech Center for Lifelong Learning - a two-week, two-night course that covers a variety of financial topics!

Retirement Planning Today is designed for individuals ages 50-70 (although anyone may attend) who want to get a high-level review of retirement planning. A variety of topics are discussed, including retirement roadblocks, retirement income, estate planning, insurance and more.

There are two course options available:

📘 Tuesdays, October 6 and 13 - 6:00 to 8:30 pm - In-person
📙 Wednesdays, October 7 and 14 - 6:00 to 8:30 pm - In-person or virtual

This fall term, instructor Susan Snider Salmon is offering five course topics ranging from the history of Bryan Park to general record finding, family tree development, technology assistance, and identifying genealogical research objectives. Whether you are new to genealogy or simply want to deepen your understanding of the Bloomington area or your own family tree, these courses will help you on your way! Step into the enigmatic world of metaphysics and the paranormal as we embark on a captivating and thought-provoking Ghost Hunting and Metaphysical Lecture Series. Decades before “ghost hunting” became a popular trend, Bob personally investigated, collected, and correlated data from hundreds of cases, along with his research on ghosts, hauntings, and metaphysical phenomena. This lecture series will discuss and break down the real behaviors and theories behind what this phenomenon is and why it exists, based on personal research and experience, and explore many other aspects of paranormal phenomena. Coming up this fall, we're excited to have both introductory and continuing class offerings in mosaics taught by local artist and CLL instructor Sara Colvard. Unlock your artistic side this fall by learning basic hand stitches to create one-of-a-kind artwork with local artist and CLL instructor David Joseff! Joseff has worked across many fields but keeps design at his core, using fiber art techniques like feltwork, needlecraft, weaving, and quilting to inspire your creativity.

In his two upcoming courses, Beginning Slow Stitch and Slow Stitch Scroll Workshop, he will emphasize encouraging you to trust your inner expression, as David always says: “get out of your head and into your hands.” Developing your slow stitch practice is a portable and satisfying way to do just that!
