Bloomington’s new fire logistics and training center on South Walnut Street is expected to finish construction in September and open in November. The $7.95 million facility will consolidate PPE and reserve equipment, expand training capacity and serve as a backup station.

Today, our crew from Station 4 visited with Zena, a 1 y/o DSH female cat and Krypto, a 6 y/o male dalmatian mix .

Zena was feeling a bit shy for photos so they attached a solo shot. She is curious and very much enjoys a jingle or crinkle toy. She has previously lived with other cats and resides in a cat colony here as well. She also appreciates a cozy hiding spot, so you might find her observing the room from beneath one of the perches!

Krypto was the obvious choice for today! Though he didn’t recognize his cultural heritage as a fire truck dog, he did pose politely with the lure of his favorite thing on earth: a tennis ball! Krypto believes that humans are 90% designed for throwing his ball and 10% for petting him when he finally gets tired. He does have some special needs and would ideally prefer to be the only dog in the home. Krypto has met older children at the shelter and done well, and is always excellent meeting adults.

Stop by and see Zena and Krypto for yourself....no doubt about it...you will fall in love!!
