This week BFD finished their annual physicals with a new addition---ultrasound scans from United Diagnostic Services (UDS), facilitated by Ascension St. Vincent's Public Safety Medical. These scans cover multiple body systems and solid organs from the neck to the pelvis. With firefighters at an increased risk of a variety of cancers, these scans may very well detect abnormalities early, when treatment gives better outcomes! Yesterday, BFD's Station 3 crew made time to visit with "Mr. Man" and "Red" at the City of Bloomington Animal Care and Control shelter.
We have included the paperwork (in the photos) on each of them so you can have their stories and details when you go there and take them home!! ❤️🐶🦊❤️

The BFD Local 586 Auxiliary would like to thank Domino's Pizza for organizing the Dine N' Donate Fundraiser for us in July. Such an easy procedure and awesome people to work with while setting this event up. Julie Coyle was absolutely WONDERFUL and went WAY above and beyond throughout the planning and wrapping up the details!! Thank you to all of you!

We, also, want to thank our community who helped us by eating Domino's pizza on our Dine N' Donate day!! You helped the Auxiliary raise $1178.59 to help us to provide Appreciate luncheons, holiday treats, baby blankets and other wonderful items for our Firefighters!! THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH!!!

It is an amazing feeling when the community you serve--helps you!! ❤️

An amazing and memorable day at BFD!! ❤️

Three new Probationary Firefighters were sworn-in:
Brandon Deckard, Garrett Hickman and Kyler Smith.

Our new Fire Marshal: Jeff Yutmeyer.

Two Deputy Fire Marshals: Chuck Cohenour and Nathan Vrab.

And Two MIH/Community EMT:
Ian Glycenfer and Kyle McKibben (and
Ollie, too! 🐾🐾).

We had a wonderful turnout, so many family and friends!! Just as it should be...lots of smiles, laughter and love!

Congratulations to all!! We're so proud of all of you!
