So great!

We're so thrilled to announce the 2024 Commencement speaker!

Rhiannon Giddens, the genre-defying singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist who trained as an operatic soprano at the Oberlin Conservatory of Music, will deliver the keynote address for Oberlin College and Conservatory’s Commencement ceremony honoring the Class of 2024 on Monday, May 27.

The Pulitzer/MacArthur/Grammy-winning musician will also receive an honorary doctorate.

Giddens received her Vocal Performance degree from Oberlin in 2000. She has since led an extraordinary career in music and advocacy.

“A consummate musician, equally noteworthy for her accomplishments as a performer, composer, scholar, lyricist, and more, Rhiannon Giddens stands as one of the most important creative and artistic voices of our time,” says Dean of the Conservatory William Quillen.

Today marks the 88th day of the year, a fitting occasion to celebrate our favorite 88-keyed instrument! This , we take a moment to recognize the players and the makers, the students and the teachers, the composers and the listeners of the piano and its music. 🎼 🎹 🎶

How are you celebrating today?

Congrats to Sarah Wroth and the whole company!
