The OSDI aims to develop and support outreach and recruitment efforts of underrepresented students by identifying students through a variety of contact points and establish effective communication with students, developing programs and communications that promote the School, and increasing the enrollment of diverse undergraduate and graduate students from diverse cultural and experiential backgrou

nds. The office also works to support student retention and success of under-represented students by collaborating with other campus units regarding programs and activities focused on retaining underserved and underrepresented students, fostering relationships with school and campus entities that are dedicated to the needs of diverse students, and developing, supporting and promoting diversity related programs, events and activities. Finally, the office reports the progress of diversity at SPH by collecting, analyzing, and providing recommendations on diversity initiatives to the schools administration, assisting with reporting requests/requirements on diversity from the schools’ administration, faculty, and governing bodies, and reporting on SPH’s diversity progress to the SPH Dean’s office and other university constituents.
