Sweatt, Ph.D., M.Div., Associate Professor of Psychology and long serving Coordinator of the Psychology Degree Program. Since joining the faculty in August 2005, Dr. Sweatt has shaped the academic and professional development of hundreds of students preparing for careers in psychology, counseling, ministry, and human services.
Dr. Sweatt teaches one of the most comprehensive psychology course loads in Christian higher education, offering instruction on ground and online courses. Dr. Jeffrey A. Sweatt’s distinguished academic training and decades of professional experience allow him to offer students a uniquely integrated understanding of how psychology and Christian faith work together in real world settings. With advanced degrees in psychology, counseling, and ministry—and professional roles ranging from therapist and clinical supervisor to youth minister and international missionary, having served in Lusaka, Zambia—Dr. Sweatt brings a depth of insight that helps students see how their relationship with Christ can shape the way they care for others. His teaching emphasizes that showing God’s love is not limited to church settings; it is lived out daily in families, schools, counseling offices, hospitals, and community organizations.
