Our CARE Grant students are in Belle Glade today, completing their academic service-learning projects.

After conducting community assessments and interviews, students identified health education needs and developed presentations focused on diabetes, high blood pressure and heart-healthy diet. The projects are being presented at St. John First Missionary Baptist Church, one of the college’s community partners through the grant initiative.

Thank you to all who joined us for the Anne Boykin Institute’s 2026 Summer Academy at Florida Atlantic University’s Christine E. Lynn College of Nursing!

Centered on the theme Caring at the Edge of Chaos: Transforming Interprofessional Practice and Healthcare, the event featured meaningful discussions on caring science and leadership, as well as a collaborative art project led by artists-in-residence Thomas and Colleen Hyatt. The resulting 10-by-12-foot piece reflects the ideas and conversations that emerged during the academy and will be displayed in the College of Nursing atrium throughout the summer.

Hands-on learning, expert presentations and emerging dermatology technologies were all part of a recent dermatology workshop at Florida Atlantic University's Christine E. Lynn College of Nursing.

Led by Drs. Patricia Delgado, Susan Bulfin and Mary Nolen, the workshop introduced students to topics including Photodynamic Light Therapy and DermaSensor technology.

A new Florida Atlantic University study is reshaping how women’s lifelong health is understood, showing that Polyendocrine Metabolic Syndrome (formerly PCOS/PMOS) does not end with reproductive years, and neither should its care.

Led by Candy Wilson, Ph.D., professor and associate dean for research and scholarship in FAU’s College of Nursing, in collaboration with researchers from the Charles E. Schmidt College of Medicine, the study identified 29 key studies on non-pharmacological approaches for women in perimenopause and menopause. Findings show that lifestyle interventions, especially diet and exercise, remain the most consistently supported strategies, while critical gaps persist in addressing chronic pain and mental health across midlife.
