GWU Hunt School of Nursing Nursing Education Students can progress seamlessly through the programs to achieve their educational goals at any level.

The Associate Degree in Nursing Program and the Bachelor of Science in Nursing Program prepares students to take the National Council Licensure Exam for Registered Nurses and can be completed on the Boiling Springs campus. The Davis Nursing Program offers Registered Nurses the opportunity to complete their Bachelor's Degree through distance learning online or in the traditional classroom on the Boiling Springs campus. The Master of Science Nursing Program prepares graduate nurses in the specialty areas of Nursing Administration and Nursing Education and can be completed in two years through distance learning online or through a combination of distance learning and traditional classroom on the Boiling Springs campus. Post Master's certificate programs in Nursing Administration and Nursing Education are also available for the MSN prepared registered nurse. The Doctor of Nursing Practice Program is a post-master's program of study for nurses holding a master's degree in nursing or a health-related field who are working professionals in advanced practice including Nursing Education, Nursing Administration, or Advanced Nursing Practice in a specialty area.

Congratulations to Jonta Elliot, one of our DNP-PMHNP students!

Jonta was selected to participate in the North Carolina Medical Society Foundation’s 2026-2027 Academy for Future Healthcare Leaders Program!

The FHL program is a six-month leadership development experience designed for graduate healthcare students preparing to enter a complex, team-based healthcare environment. The program emphasizes understanding individual leadership styles, strengthening interpersonal effectiveness, and developing the confidence to contribute meaningfully within teams.

Recently, several of our Bulldog Nursing Students and Faculty had the privilege of partnering with one of our local elementary schools to teach about cardiac anatomy and circulation to their 4th graders through a pig heart dissection!
This is such a rewarding and fun annual activity for us, and our students had a great time sharing all the things they are learning with the kids!
