Within the framework of the liberal arts and professional studies curriculum, Gardner-Webb’s School of Education offers you majors in Elementary Education (K-6) and Middle Grades Education (6-9). Concurrently, the School provides you with opportunities for intellectual, social, physical, and spiritual development within a learning environment based on Christian principles and values. l Education Minor is available if you’re seeking 9-12 licensures in the areas of English, Mathematics, and Social Studies or in the special subject areas (K-12) of Art, Music, Physical Education, French, Spanish, and English as a Second Language. Upon successfully completing these programs, you will have fulfilled the requirements for North Carolina Class A Teacher Licensure. We also have courses available if you are a career teacher seeking license renewal or if you’re holding a bachelor’s degree and wish to obtain teacher licensure.

Our first Aspiring Teachers’ Day is scheduled for Friday, October 12. High school juniors and seniors (and families) are invited to campus to learn more about the School of Education.
Attendees will participate in breakout sessions, meet School of Education faculty, have lunch with future classmates, and take a tour of campus!

Our Fall 2018 Teacher Education Orientation was great! We are excited to welcome all of our new teacher education candidates. Our student teachers were also on campus for their second edTPA writing intensive day. Additionally, some of our second semester candidates taught some on-demand lesson plans to our new candidates.
