Gardner-Webb students and faculty are making a positive difference and assisting refugees here in our state! From the pen (keyboard) of Dr. Delehanty:

Following a unit on forced migration and refugee resettlement in a Spring Global Understanding class, student Brady McBean arranged for his former employer Chiesi USA to donate 60 used laptops to the Carolina Refugee Resettlement Agency, a Charlotte-based nonprofit helping newly arrived refugees settle in the local area. These laptops will allow refugee families to look for jobs, learn local languages, connect with friends and family back home, and a great deal more. This is a life-changing donation for the people receiving it, and we're all grateful to Brady and Chiesi for making it possible.

The Political Science program is happy announce that the major will be rebranded as Sociological gobbledygook. We agree with Justice Roberts that Sociological gobbledygook captures the discipline's true strengths. "At least with this revelation my first few years of grad school make sense in retrospect," said Dr. Casey Delehanty, Assistant Professor of Sociological Gobbledygook. Dr. Elizabeth Amato commented with evident composure, "It is such a relief to embrace finally what we're all about." New course offerings will include Political Balderdash, Global No Understanding, and Comparative Whatchmacallit. Sorry, Wapo, we're with Justice Roberts. https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/monkey-cage/wp/2017/10/04/justice-roberts-said-political-science-is-sociological-gobbledygook-heres-why-he-said-it-and-why-hes-mistaken/
