⚖️ Summer externships are underway at Idaho Law! ☀️
Five University of Idaho College of Law students — John Harris, Kalista Barkley, Gerardo Banuelos, Matt Dominick and Parker Barnhart — recently joined other law students and completed onboarding for their summer externships with the Idaho Court of Appeals under the guidance of College of Law Adjunct Professor, the Hon. Jessica M. Lorello.
They are part of a remarkable group of 50 Idaho Law students from Moscow and Boise serving in externship placements this summer across Idaho, Oregon, Washington, Nevada, Utah and Arizona, demonstrating the reach and impact of Idaho's law school throughout the West.
Practical training remains a defining strength of the College of Law.
During the 2025-26 academic year:
📈 Approximately 150 JD students participated in fall, spring or summer externships — a 10% increase from the prior year.
🤝 52 students participated in legal clinics — a 33% increase from the prior year.
⚖️ Students developed real-world legal skills while serving courts, organizations, employers and clients throughout the region.
