In honor of philanthropy week, Zeta Tau Alpha recognizes the strong women that have fought in their battle against breast cancer. Swipe to hear some personal stories from our sisters and their connection to the cause💗
I think of pink when I think of my mother. The woman who has been my biggest inspiration and one of the strongest people I have ever known.
Hearing my mom’s breast cancer diagnosis nearly five years ago was one of the scariest and most heartbreaking days of my life. But what cancer could never break was my mother’s strength.
Through every surgery, every doctor’s appointment, every difficult day, and every tear, she continued to fight with strength and was still her kind, funny self that i’ve always recognized my mother as. Watching someone you love face something so terrifying changes you forever. But through it all, I feel so incredibly blessed to still have my mom by my side, not just as my mother, but as my best friend.
I couldn’t be more proud of the woman she is and the way she fought cancer like a beast. Today, I’m beyond grateful to say that my mom is officially 4 years cancer free!!! I love you more than words could ever express mama. 💗🎀🦩

I think pink for my grandma. In 2018, she was diagnosed with breast cancer, and I had to watch someone I love and look up to fight for her life. She is one of the strongest women I know, and I couldn’t be more proud of her. I never want another family to experience that same fear and heartbreak. I want to do everything I can to help make a difference. 💗

I think pink for all of the women in my family and around the world that have been touched by breast cancer, but most of all I think pink for my mom, Devin.
My mom is the most resilient person I know. Through her strength and grace, she has been the biggest supporter, role model, and best friend that I could have ever asked for.
Four months after I was born, she lost her mom to a long time battle against breast cancer. Seven years after losing her mom, in 2014, my mom was diagnosed with early onset breast cancer, and underwent a double mastectomy.
