The Bachelor of Applied Science Program is a degree-completion program. All incoming students must have a completed Associate of Applied Science (AAS) from a regionally accredited college or university. The Bachelor of Applied Science (BAS) is an interdisciplinary degree, which means you can take upper division courses from a variety of disciplines, but you are required to choose a minor or an emp

hasis to satisfy the Area of Emphasis requirement. Students graduate with a strong foundation in:
-Complex problem-solving
-Collaboration/teamwork
-Professional ethics
-Global consciousness and social responsibility
-Judgment and decision-making
-Leadership
-Technical/analytical skills

After graduating, many of our students earn promotions, attend graduate schools, or even change careers completely. The Institute for Advancing American Values Distinguished Lecture Series presents speaker Dr. Danielle Allen, political theorist and James Bryant Conant University Professor at Harvard University, on April 14, 7 - 8 p.m. Dr. Allen will be speaking on "Building a More Perfect Union." The event will be a webinar with moderated discussion, followed by a Q & A.

Allen is the principal investigator for the Democratic Knowledge Project, which seeks to identify, strengthen, and disseminate the bodies of knowledge, skills, and capacities that democratic citizens need in order to succeed at operating their democracy; a Chair of the Commission on the Practice of Democratic Citizenship; past Chair of the Pulitzer Prize and Mellon Foundation Boards; and a member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences and the American Philosophical Society.

This interactive event offers a variety of activities and resources to help us better navigate the false and misleading information that has become an “infodemic” across the internet.

Try your hand at activities such as Spot the Troll and Which Face is Real? Construct your own conspiracy theory and learn how to communicate with those who believe in scientifically disproved information. This event is free and all are welcome.
