Important Information
• First-come, first-served
• Registration Required: 850-547-1108.
• By Florida law, horses must have a current Coggins test to travel within the state. Horses entering Florida also require an OCVI (Health Certificate).

This clinic is hosted by UF/IFAS Extension Holmes County in partnership with Farm & Pet Veterinary Clinic to help riders prepare for the Bonifay Rodeo and Grand Entry.

Quick snapshot of the issue:
• Pest: Heliococcus summervillei (pasture mealybug)
• Florida detection: May 27, 2025; now (6/18/2026) ≥14 counties in south Florida
• Main hosts/impact: Limpograss (severe), also bermuda, bahia, sugarcane, but many other pasture and w**d grasses
• Symptoms: yellowing and reddening → dieback (pasture), yellowing (sugarcane)
• Spread drivers: Equipment, sprigging, roadside mowing, clothes, vehicles
• Key constraint: No effective labeled insecticides in pasture yet
• Best current actions: Prevention, early detection, maintain pasture health
