This morning, five outstanding IT interns had the incredible opportunity to present to the Appalachian State Board of Trustees:

Standing in front of the Board is no small task, and these students represented themselves, ITS, and App State with confidence and professionalism. We are incredibly proud of the work they've done and the poise they showed today.



A sincere thank you to Chancellor Heather Norris and Board of Trustees Chair Mark Ricks for giving our students this meaningful opportunity to be seen and heard at the highest level of university leadership. Moments like this shape future leaders.

And to the ITS department — thank you for hosting these interns, investing in their growth, and creating a space where students can do real, impactful work.

The Mountaineer Cybersecurity Club kicked off the Fall 26 semester last night but there is still time to get involved. The MCC's primary goals are to provide hands-on cybersecurity experience beyond the classroom and to serve as a launchpad for technical growth. Introducing Alpha Sigma Cyber (ASC) — the new National Honor Society recognizing excellence in Cybersecurity. ASC honors members who demonstrate academic achievement, technical mastery, ethical leadership, and a commitment to strengthening the digital world. This society represents the highest standard of Cybersecurity excellence in the Walker College of Business at Appalachian State University, and beyond.
