Berklee Global Jazz Institute founder and artistic director Danilo Pérez premiered “The Ever-Changing World,” a new work commissioned by the Herbie Hancock Institute to honor architect Frank Gehry. It debuted October 11 at the Institute’s International Jazz Vocals Competition gala at Gehry’s Fondation Louis Vuitton in Paris, with Terri Lyne Carrington, Walter Smith III, and John Patitucci.

“I wanted to capture the museum’s movement and fluidity—not simply describe its appearance, but discover its spirit,” Pérez said.

One song. Two languages. A million dreams. 🎶🌎🌙

From the Oscar-nominated film The Greatest Showman and its stage musical, “A Million Dreams” comes to life in a bilingual English and Spanish arrangement for the Great American Songbook, featuring Allanie Ortiz, who hails from Puerto Rico. Part of the SP26 Signature Series, the concert features an interdisciplinary global cast of 100+ Berklee students from more than 30 countries. At its heart, the song is about envisioning a world beyond what is expected, celebrating imagination, possibility, and hope through music.

This summer, Berklee’s Music Industry Leadership and Innovation students traveled to London for a two-week innovation experience with Brunel University of London, Design Factory London, Heathrow, British Airways, and Wembley Stadium.

Through design thinking, market research, prototyping, and collaboration, students developed new ideas for the passenger and fan experience, including exploring how AR and VR could shape the future of live entertainment.

The experience culminated in a pitch competition, where a team including Berklee students took top honors for their proposal to reimagine the live entertainment and fan experience at Wembley Stadium.

K-pop and hip-hop have more in common than you might think. Berklee’s K-Pop & Beyond brings artists, industry leaders, and students together to explore the connection between the two genres through workshops, master classes, performances, and conversations with music industry professionals.

The series also spotlights Berklee’s student talent, including the K-Pop & Beyond Ensemble, student hip-hop clubs, Boston Conservatory dancers, and B-Girls, a K-pop group created and managed entirely by current Berklee students.
