Join us for our final Wind Symphony concert of the academic year.

The program includes David Maslanka’s A Child’s Garden of Dreams, Anthony Plog’s Three Scenes for Antiphonal Trumpet Choir and Wind Ensemble, Wayne Oquin’s Tower Ascending, and Leonard Bernstein’s Make Our Garden Grow.

The 2026 CU Boulder Middle and High School Honor Band is underway!

We are thrilled to welcome outstanding middle and high school musicians from across the region to campus for several days of focused rehearsal, musical growth, and meaningful collaboration. Students will have the opportunity to work with CU faculty and our fantastic guest conductors, Verena Mösenbichler-Bryant and Liz Love.

It’s shaping up to be an excellent week of music-making, and we invite you to join us for the culminating performances:

Join us for the CU Boulder Wind Symphony's final concert of the semester on Thursday, November 13, at 7:30 p.m. in Macky Auditorium! Director of Bands, Dr. Shanti Simon, leads this immersive performance, transforming the concert hall into a multi-sensory experience of music, video, and lighting.

The program features Julie Giroux’s Blue Marble, Mason Bates’ Mothership, Óscar Navarro’s Downey Overture, Alfred Reed’s Variations on the Porazzi Theme of Wagner, and a new work by CU student composer Asher Dobrin. Additional appearances by graduate conductors Lexi Bixler and Elias Gillespie.

Admission is free. The concert will also be livestreamed for those joining remotely.

Join us on Sunday, October 12th, at the Rayback Collective in Boulder for an afternoon of music, drinks, food, and community. From 12:30 to 1:30 PM, graduate conductor Ashley Hawk and the CU Wind Symphony will perform Mozart’s incredible Gran Partita.

Enjoy Rayback’s great selection of drinks, local food trucks, and take in the beauty of a Colorado fall day. This free event is the perfect chance to relax, connect, and experience Mozart. We hope to see you there!

Please join the CU Boulder Wind Symphony and Symphonic Band for their first concert of the year on Thursday, September 18, at 7:30 p.m. in Macky Auditorium.

The Wind Symphony will present works by Gala Flagello, David Biedenbender, Paul Hindemith, and Dennis Llinás, and we are pleased to welcome our new Director of Bands, Dr. Shanti Simon, for her CU Boulder concert debut.

The Symphonic Band, led by Prof. Ray Cramer (Professor Emeritus, Indiana University), will feature music by Kevin Walczyk, Julie Giroux, Ryan George, Peter Tchaikovsky, and Richard Strauss. The evening will also include appearances by graduate conductors Lexi Bixler, Ashley Hawk, Elias Gillespie, and Adrian Holton.

We look forward to seeing you there and invite you to join us for the full lineup of fall performances!
