Congratulations to and .hartl () on graduating this past weekend!!

Jared received his Master's degree in tuba performance and pedagogy, and will be pursuing his DMA at the University of Michigan next fall!

EJ has received her Bachelor's degree in euphonium performance and music education, and will be attending the University of Central Arkansas next fall to pursue both wind band conducting and euphonium performance!

Anton has finished his Bachelor's degree in music education, and will be teaching at Conifer High School and West Jefferson Middle School in the fall!

We are so thrilled for these three, and wish them the best in all of their future endeavors! In addition to our excitement for their successes, we must also express how much they will be missed. Each of these three were an integral part of the studio, both as friends and colleagues. Their artistry and professionalism has given all of us so much, and we can be proud to have studied and performed alongside them. Again best wishes, and we're so excited to see what happens next!

Bravo to both and .hartl() for gracing us with two wonderful solo recitals this past weekend! We were so lucky to be there to experience such a high level of artistry from both of them, and are incredibly thankful to call them colleagues and friends.
Sam's program included Caprice #20 - Paganini (arr. Werden), Concerto per Flicorno Basso - Ponchielli (arr. Howey), Romance [from The Gadfly Suite] - Shostakovich (arr. Sam Webster), and Mourning Dove - Kanda.
Jared's program included Retratos for Tuba and Piano - Meza, Concerto for Bass Tuba - Vaughan Williams, Old American Songs - Copland, and Three Miniatures - Plog.

Again, BRAVO!! While we celebrate these two excellent performances, it is also a bittersweet experience since it is Jared's last solo recital as a student here at CU Boulder. Next year he will be attending the University of Michigan to pursue his DMA. We are so happy for him, and wish him well in all of his future endeavors!!

This is one for the history books 🥳 A truly momentous day for all the people of Boulder, Colorado... We have, gathered together, the winners from the last THREE YEARS of studio March Madness groups! These three absolutely dominated the competition for their respective wins: easily swept in 2024, .hartl
( ) absolutely demolished us in 2025, and .eggs had such a wide margin this year there was barely any competition at all 🎉🎉
Of course they all graced us with emotional speeches that moved everyone to tears in studio today, but this leaves one important question for the future: who will take the crown next year??

Congratulations to the studio members who were part of both the CU Wind Symphony and Symphonic Band for two excellent final performances this past week!!
Sadly these were the last band performances of the school year, but it was an absolute treat hearing these musicians play with such a high level of musicianship and technique! Again congratulations to all, and we look forward to hearing the final concerts for both orchestras and the jazz ensembles, as well!

Huge congratulations to these three for their successes at NWRTEC 2026!! Their hard work and dedication has paid off with some exciting recognition from the conference!

Sam Webster finished first in the mock band audition for euphonium, Brayden Metcalf finished runner up for both the mock orchestral audition and the artist division of the tuba solo competition, and Ryann White finished runner up for the mock band audition for euphonium!!

We had the pleasure of welcoming Prof. Gene Pokorny, current professor at Northwestern and principal tubist of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, to our studio!

He led an incredible masterclass, and four of our studio members had the opportunity to perform for him.

Congratulations on the wonderful hi from our studio members Nathan, Brayden, and Anton at the CU Holiday Festival last weekend!! It was a wonderful way to not only celebrate the season, but to usher in the last week of the semester!
