Professor Becca Andrews, WKU School of Media & Communication professor, has published a story in The Guardian about the passing of Country Music Legend Dolly Parton. “I loved Dolly, and I was honored to get to memorialize her this way,” Andrews stated.

A memorial at the park’s entrance held bouquets, and a child asked his mothers why so many people were crying

The School of Media & Communication is excited to invite you to the opening of Places, our latest gallery exhibition featuring the work of Kentucky photographer David Coyle

THURSDAY | SEPT. 10 | 6:00 PM | JRH AUDITORIUM

Coyle's collection brings together landscapes from three distinct places: the Red River Gorge, Kentucky’s Bluegrass Region, and the San Juan Mountains of Colorado. While these landscapes are separated by geography and character, his photographs reveal a shared language of light, scale, texture and time. Together, the images ask us to look beyond what a landscape simply looks like and consider how a place becomes familiar, memorable and worth returning to.

Please join us at Jody Richards Hall on Thursday, September 10 at 6:00 PM for a presentation by David Coyle, followed by a reception and the official opening of the exhibition.

Free parking is available after 4:00 PM in the Chestnut Street South Lot, just a short two-block walk from Jody Richards Hall.

We hope you can join us for an evening of photography, conversation and a chance to meet the artist.
