New Student Lounge Alert!

Need a place to relax, connect, or take a break between classes? Our new Student Lounge is now open in Room 525!

We’ve also added a quiet study space beside the offices for students who need a calm place to focus and get some work done 🤫

Please help us keep these spaces available by cleaning up after yourself and taking care of the lounge. If the space is not kept clean, the lounge will be taken away. Let’s work together to keep it open for everyone! ❤️

Introducing our first alumni spotlight of the semester!

Meet Madelynn Einhorn, a 2022 WKU graduate who has taken her passion for political science, economics, and geographic data science all the way to London!

During her time at WKU, Madelynn participated in Speech & Debate, conducted undergraduate research, interned at the U.S. Federal Reserve, and studied abroad in Morocco. After graduation, she earned her master’s degree in Geographic Data Science from the London School of Economics and Political Science and now works as a Data Scientist at Energy Aspects.

We’re excited to highlight Madelynn’s journey and celebrate all the amazing things our alumni are accomplishing beyond WKU! 🎓❤️

Join us for American Model United Nations (AMUN)!

Students will enroll in IA 300: Model Assembly, and travel to Chicago for the annual conference November 21-24. This year, participating WKU students will represent Ukraine in professional, real-world simulations of the United Nations!

✨ What You’ll Gain
• Hands-on experience with diplomacy and international relations
• Research and policy-writing experience
• Practice negotiating and representing a country’s interests
• A chance to connect with students from across the country

The department covers lodging and conference/registration fees. Students are responsible for travel, food, and attending preparation sessions.

The Connect Program is a global online exchange that brings together college students from the U.S., Europe, Asia, and the Middle East/North Africa!

➡️ What you’ll do
- Join a small international group of students
- Meet online for 2 hours each week for 8 weeks (October 12 - December 4)
- Discuss culture, identity, global challenges, and youth empowerment
- Build leadership, teamwork, cross-cultural communication, and problem solving skills

🎓 What you’ll gain
- A “study abroad” experience
- Certificate of participation
