Dr. Gillis joins us after earning his PhD from the Shidler College of Business at the University of Hawai’i at Mānoa. He brings a wealth of expertise and real-world experience in corporate finance and banking directly into our classrooms.

Finance major*Ariel Lopezspent his summer interning with German American Bank in Owensboro, KY, where he explored how technology can transform the banking experience.

🤖 Ariel developed an AI chatbot that gives personal bankers quick answers to product and process questions.

We’re proud to see Ariel combining finance, technology, and innovation to create solutions that make an impact!

Look at this incredible crew! 🌟 Our students accompanied by Dr. Kerron Joseph, have officially touched down in Rabat, Morocco, and the energy is unmatched. From exploring historic sites to diving deep into international finance, this group is stepping out of the classroom and onto the global stage.

Over the next few weeks, they’ll be collaborating with local entrepreneurs, analyzing market trends, and discovering how business moves in one of the world's most dynamic economic hubs.

But it’s not all spreadsheets and seminars the bond this group is building is already next-level. Lifelong friendships, unforgettable memories, and a massive career edge? Check, check, and check. ✔️

WKU is proud to have been one of the original 19 schools to join the program back in 1998 and since then, hundreds of Hilltoppers have gained hands-on experience managing a real-world stock portfolio. 📈

The 2026 TVA Investment Challenge Program Conference marked another milestone in this outstanding partnership. The program, now in its 28th year, an impressive achievement!

A huge thank-you to all 28 universities in the program for making the trip to Nashville and for the incredible work managing your portfolios. During the conference, students attended keynote sessions on economic outlook, portfolio construction, and investment management. They also presented WKU’s portfolio, listened to presentations from other participating schools, explored careers in finance, and took advantage of valuable networking opportunities. 🤝💼

Here’s to continuing a legacy of learning, leadership, and financial excellence! ❤️💛
