🌱🚜 ESGS major, Landen Dale, spent the Spring semester interning at the WKU Farm, gaining hands-on experience with planting and harvesting crops, cattle operations, land management, and agricultural equipment.

Experiences like this highlight the strong connection between environmental science and agriculture, especially when it comes to sustainability, natural resource management, and food systems. 🌎🐄🌾

A huge thank you to our colleagues in the WKU Department of Agriculture and Food Science for making opportunities like this possible for our students!

🔥Last week, Geoscience graduate student Charlie Alavi presented their research "Calibrating Charcoal Records to Improve Paleofire Reconstructions from Jackson Lake, Wyoming," at the 76th Annual Meeting of the GSA Rocky Mountain Section, held in Albuquerque, New Mexico!

💪Shout out to Charlie and Dr. Giliane Rasbold on their impressive work on this project - we love having this duo represent !

💧ESGS major Noah Jennings has been awarded a FUSE grant to study "Jennings Creek Hydrologic Connectivity for Flood Mitigation" using dye tracing under the guidance of Dr. Jason Polk!

⭐FUSE Award: Niklas Schintgen⭐

🔥ESGS major Nik Schintgen has been awarded a FUSE grant to study "Paleofire records in Grant Teton National Park over the past 1,000 years" under the guidance of Dr. Giliane Rasbold!
