For three days, juniors and seniors who are potential first-generation college students stayed overnight on campus, participated in informational sessions on campus resources, engaged in team-building activities, and learned about campus through tours.

Students connected with First Gen faculty, staff, and alumni, gaining insights and building networks that will support them along their college journey.

WKU’s Imagewest Agency won MRI-Simmons “Inspired by Insight” award at the 2026 American Advertising Federation National Student Advertising Competition (NSAC).

“Our team conducted a national research study, analyzed primary and secondary data, and used those insights to inform every aspect of the campaign strategy and creative work," Kara Glenn, Assistant Professor of Art & Design and Imagewest Co-Director said. "When students from advertising, English, graphic design, psychology, public relations and user experience all work together, they produce the kind of research-driven work that can win on the national stage.”
