College of Health and Human Services at WKU Welcome to the College of Health & Human Services at Western Kentucky University! Thank you for visiting our page.

We set out to be an innovative leader in the student-centered, interprofessional preparation of health and human services professionals by providing students with an inclusive, community-engaged, and interdisciplinary academic experience. We have seven academic units that represent an array of professions:

Applied Human Sciences
Communication Sciences & Disorders
Kinesiology, Recreation & Sport

Nursing & Allied Health
Physical Therapy
Public Health
Social Work

We offer degrees at the associate, baccalaureate and master degree levels – doctoral degrees are offered in Nursing Practice and Physical Therapy. The Institute for Rural Health, and the South-Central Kentucky Area Health Education Center are also housed in, or overseen by CHHS.

We support students academically, mentally, emotionally, and personally with wellness resources, and encourage balance through the “10 Dimensions of Wellness.” Our program helps students build healthy habits and strong foundations for the future, improving the quality of life both on and off campus.
