Our students had the chance to learn directly from a business leader who has spent more than 35 years building, scaling, and leading companies (like Experian Interactive Media and Groupon!)

A huge thank you to Steve Krenzer for being our fall Orser speaker. We are grateful you spent the day with us and our students!

Hi everyone! My name is Alaina Hatcher and I am a senior at MSU studying Marketing. I am from West Bloomfield, Michigan. I chose marketing to pursue a path in sports marketing.

At MSU, I am a marketing intern and photographer for the athletic department. I am on the club ski team. I also have a few internships outside MSU in the sports industry. Some other things I enjoy are hiking, running, and concerts.

I am also the director of special events with the American Marketing Association where I help plan events and ensure everything flows smoothly. We have both our sales and marketing weeks coming up. These are awesome opportunities to network, learn from the best, and compete in real life simulations. Marketing week is October 12th-16th. We'll have a speaker from Disney, an outdoor marketing panel, a tour of MAP brewing, and more.

Sales week is November 9th-13th. We'll kick it off with our networking dinner which is an awesome opportunity to sit down and connect with people in specific professions. We also have a sales panel and in person sales competition.

AMA is an awesome organization to be a part of and has been one of the highlights of my time at MSU. I have learned so much and met so many amazing people. Feel free to reach out with any questions about joining. We have a plethora of open director positions and AMA is open for all majors not just marketing or business!

Some advice I have is to use the Bracken Center! They are here to help and I wouldn't have gotten half the internships I've had without them.

Jabs staff is here to help and want to see us succeed. Another piece of advice is to not give up when you get a rejection or not the answer you were looking for. I have had plenty of opportunities from being persistent and reapplying/reaching out.

Please reach out to me if you have any questions about how to break into the sports industry or anything else.

Hi Bobcats, my name is Liv Bellow. I’m from Las Vegas, Nevada & a current junior at MSU. I am studying accounting with an aim to complete the MPAc program offered through Jabs. During the week you can always find me in Jabs, the library or hanging out in the Bracken Center. Outside of school I love to travel, read, & just be outside.

This year I am a new face on the Jabs Ambassador team where we serve to support students & to be representatives of the Jake Jabs College of Business & Entrepreneurship. I am also part of the Women in Business Club, The Accounting Club, as well as being Global Ambassador for the Office of International Programs.

My biggest piece of advice is to be intentional with getting out of your comfort zone. Whether it's joining a club or studying abroad or attending an event, there are opportunities for everyone. Push your comfort zone & use all the resources you can while you have them.

This week, September 29th, we have our beloved Jabs Networking Night from 5-7pm in Jabs Hall where you’ll have the opportunity to talk directly with employers. This is truly a great opportunity for you all, regardless of grade or major. If you have any questions on how to prepare, please stop by the Bracken Center, we are more than willing to help you with your questions.

Wishing you the best & I’ll see you on Tuesday!

Happy Homecoming Week! This year’s homecoming theme is “Cat-Tastic Carnival.” Montana State University and the Montana State University Alumni Foundation will host events throughout the week for students, community members, alumni and fans on campus and across Bozeman to show their Bobcat spirit.

We can't wait to celebrate with our fellow business alumni at the various events this week. In particular, we are excited to honor Jeremy Hauk '89 as our Alumni Achievement honoree on Friday. We will also be cheering on our 35+ Jabs student athletes as the Bobcats take on NAU on Saturday alongside our talented Jabs students in the Spirit of the West Marching Band and the Spirit Squad. Go Cats!

Bobcat fans can participate in events including a homecoming awards ceremony, parade and tours of MSU’s newest buildings ahead of the homecoming football game on Sept. 26.

My name is Chris Druffel, I am a Sophomore Business management student from Pullman, Washington. I came to MSU to pursue my love of rock climbing and be near the mountains.

Within MSU, I am a Jabs ambassador as well as a mentor to the Jabs CABLE program. Being a part of these groups has helped me to learn about myself and how I can progress as a leader as well as how I can help others to succeed in their endeavors. I love connecting with first year students and being able to help them solve the same problems that l struggled with.

One of the most important things that Jabs students can do is get connected within the College through numerous events that we host, such as networking nights or our First Year Expo.

These events are incredible for helping students to connect with, employers, advisors, fellow students, and helping them figure out how they want to get involved!

Jeremy Hauk ’89 of Billings, Montana, earned a B.S. in business administration from Montana State University. After working as a smokejumper with the U.S. Forest Service, he began a career in public accounting, spending 17 years with KPMG before joining Eide Bailly in 2006. Today, he serves as managing partner and CEO of Eide Bailly Advisory LLP.

While Hauk has served in numerous leadership roles throughout his community and profession, including Big Brothers Big Sisters of Yellowstone County and the Billings Catholic Schools Foundation, Hauk is most proud of investing in the next generation. Whether guiding young professionals, supporting students or coaching youth athletics, helping others succeed has been one of the most meaningful aspects of his career.

A dedicated supporter of MSU and parent of three Bobcats, Hauk has recruited and hired dozens of Bobcat graduates, served as chair of the Accounting Advisory Council, worked alongside faculty to develop curriculum and mentored students throughout their academic journeys.

Hi Bobcats, my name is Jack Drynan and I am from Helena, MT. The last time I was featured I had two and a half years left in my Finance degree, and now it’s just a semester…time flies!

Outside of the classroom, most of my time is spent in the MSU Launchpad where I serve as the Operations Manager and as a Venture Coach. Here we help all students, faculty, staff, and alumni on their business ventures no matter what phase they’re in.

If I’m not in the Launchpad I’m probably in the EngineWorks building across from campus where my club, Launchcats, hosts all our events in partnership with the Catalyst Labs Start-up Incubator. This semester we have 6 entrepreneurs coming in to speak who carry vast experience from Nasdaq 100 founders, to y-combinator alumni, corporate attorney’s, Forbes 30 Under 30 alumni, and inventors just to list a few.

Looking back I am very thankful for all my professors and the staff in Jabs for the experiences and opportunities I’ve garnered during my time in school. From my personal to professional life, I have grown a lot since being in Jabs and I wouldn’t change one thing about it! Go Cats!
