Brethren,

As many of you may know, our boiler failed us a couple months back. It took a while for us to even get it looked at. As of now, it’s not likely to be repaired or replaced soon. Unfortunately this means we will have to cancel our meeting again this month. In lieu of that, many of us plan to visit the brothers in Greenfield for their meeting. Republican Lodge will open lodge at 7:30 on Thursday, January 20th. They have been made aware that some of us plan to join. Their address is 215 Munson Street. We understand their DDGM will be visiting that evening as well. If you can join, please do. We’ve missed fellowship for a couple months and this will be a nice opportunity to visit with brothers outside of our jurisdiction.
Blessings to you all.
- Bro. Jeffery Anderson-Burgos
Presiding Master

Update: they have a dinner beginning at 6:30. Anyone wishing to join for that, please send a message before 6:30 today (Sunday) and we’ll make sure your name is added.

From the Grand Master:

As you all know by now, in response to COVID-19, Governor Scott has declared Vermont under a state of emergency until April 15, 2020. We as Masons should do our part in preventing the spread of this virus which will seriously affect the most vulnerable of our Craft and our communities.
After serious thought, and in consultation with the Vermont Department of Health, I am issuing an order for the suspension of all Masonic meetings and activities, including events where the public is invited, until April 15, 2020. This suspension of Masonic activities is to begin immediately. Please inform all Brethren.
Many lodges hold their annual meetings at this time of year. To prevent confusion, I am issuing a blanket dispensation to reschedule any annual meeting that must be cancelled due to this order, or any future orders by the Grand Lodge of Vermont, connected with COVID-19. Please inform all Brethren of any rescheduled annual meetings of your lodges.
Early in April, we will re-evaluate the public health situation in our state and come to a decision about resuming our normal Masonic meetings and activities.
I urge every able Brother Mason to think of those Brothers, their families, and other members of their communities who are at risk and choose not to leave their homes. They may need help with picking up their mail, needed medicines, groceries, or take away meals. Your local churches may know who needs help in your communities. Those of you who are able, please help in your communities where you can.
Brothers, thank you all for your understanding and help in these challenging times. With Fraternal Wishes for Health and Happiness,

Brother Stuart V Corso
Most Worshipful Grand Master Grand Lodge of Vermont

Gerry’s wife, Linda, has informed us that on Friday, February 22nd, there will be a celebration of life at the American Legion at 32 Linden St in Brattleboro from 2pm to 6pm. She is asking everyone to bring a dish to share. She has also asked that in lieu of flower donations to please make donations to the Children’s Shriners Hospital in Springfield, Massachusetts.

Brethren,

It’s with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of a good brother and a good man. Brother Gerald Bittner-Taylor, Worshipful Past Master, laid down his working tools yesterday and joined the Grand Architect above yesterday.
A more complete offering of details regarding his service during life and all memorial plans will be offered soon. We wanted to give notice to our brothers and all so that prayers can be offered to his wife, Linda, his family, and friends.
