59 years ago this week, Colorado Mountain College held its very first class.
On October 2, 1967, students showed up for day one at two campuses, Leadville and Spring Valley. This photo shows Spring Valley that same year, buildings still going up while the first students were arriving.
Fast forward to today, and those two campuses have grown into eleven, spread across nine counties, serving about 14,000 students a year.
As we celebrate 59 years of opportunity, growth, and community impact, we're also investing in the future. Scholarships help today's students access the same life-changing education that generations of CMC students have experienced since 1967.
Today is the final day to Saddle Up for CMC's Annual Day of Giving. Make a gift of $19.67 in honor of CMC's founding year, or give any amount that feels right to you.
