Some people talk about building a healthier Kitsap County. Dr. Willa Fisher has spent her career doing it.

A physician specializing in public health and preventive medicine, Dr. Fisher served as Health Officer for the Bremerton-Kitsap County Health Department, working at the intersection of medicine and community well-being long before it was a talking point. She's also a founding member of the Kitsap Community Foundation's Women's Giving Circle, a program built around the belief that when women invest together, communities change.

Now she's bringing that same commitment to the Olympic College Foundation board, at a moment when OC's expanding healthcare programs are training the nurses, EMTs, and allied health professionals Kitsap County urgently needs.

“I hope my experience working in Kitsap County to improve the health of our residents will be useful in helping OC increase its educational opportunities for students in needed healthcare fields.”

We're proud to have her at the table. Come meet her at the 31st Annual Community Luncheon, October 12.

When Peter and Marty Braun learned that Kitsap County needed EMTs and had no local program to train them, they didn't wait for someone else to fix it. Their gift helped launch OC's new EMT program, creating a pathway for local students to become the first responders our community depends on.

Peter will be joining us at the 31st Annual Community Luncheon on Monday, October 12, to share what drives his investment in OC students and what he believes is possible for healthcare in Kitsap County.

This is what community leadership looks like. We're honored to have him at the table, and grateful for his generous support as our Networking / Open House Sponsor.

Dr. John Gibbons has been caring for Kitsap County for 40 years. Since establishing his practice in Bremerton and eventually building a 14,000 square-foot specialty dental office in Silverdale, he has been as much a community builder as he is a clinician.

A pediatric dentist by training, Dr. Gibbons served as President of the Washington State Dental Association in 2022-23, advocating at the state level for the profession and the patients it serves. But his commitment to Kitsap has always been local first.

He has publicly championed working with community partners like Olympic College to expand healthcare workforce programs, because he understands that the shortage of healthcare workers is a community problem that requires a community solution.

“As a native of Kitsap County, I believe it is critical for our community to have access to local educational opportunities that lead to careers allowing residents to remain and thrive in Kitsap County.”

We're honored to have him on the board. Come meet Dr. Gibbons at the 31st Annual Community Luncheon, October 12.

Patty Page knows what it takes to build strong educational institutions from the inside out. As President of Page Leadership and Education Consultants LLC, based in Poulsbo, she brings decades of experience in public school leadership, having served in the North Kitsap School District and other districts across Washington state.

She holds a superintendent credential from Washington State University.
Her work centers on supporting superintendents and school boards, strengthening governance, and helping educational organizations navigate complex challenges with clarity and purpose. That expertise translates directly to the work of the OC Foundation board.

“Community Colleges serve local communities and are vital to advancing skills and knowledge.”

We're thrilled to have her expertise on the board. Come meet Patty at the 31st Annual Community Luncheon, October 12.

The 31st Annual Community Luncheon is the Olympic College Foundation's signature annual fundraiser, and we need you in the room.

This year, your gift helps keep OC's expanding healthcare programs equipped, funded, and sustainable, training the nurses, EMTs, surgical techs, and allied health professionals Kitsap County is counting on.

Behind every student is a program that needs the right tools, equipment, and resources to make that training possible. That is what your gift funds. There is no charge to attend. Guests will be invited to make a gift at the event.

Hear from Chad Melton, President of the Puget Sound Market for Virginia Mason Franciscan Health; Peter Braun, champion of OC's new EMT program; and Olympic College President Dr. Chantae Recasner.
