With the closing of Olympic College Clay Club I am planning to shut down this page.
That said, I have no clue how to do that. It's like the Hotel California.... You can check out, but you can never leave.

Sharing this comment in a more prominent place:

Like many of you, I was disappointed at the ending of this era for the community. Marie Weichman has been outstanding in her support, and even though I have only been a member for a short time, I miss working with those of you I had a chance to learn from.
It was in that spirit that I created a group called Clay Club Kitsap. I encourage everyone who is interested join that group, and we can reestablish connection there for the next era of community.

Some of you may have heard the news....
OC Clay Club is closing its doors in October, calling a finish to the operation and handling of the OC Clay Club as of the Fall quarter installation of the OCCC Exhibition in the OC Art Gallery.

We will end our 15 years (2009-2023) of community open lab, guest artists, workshops, fundraising and parties with an exhibition in the Olympic College Art Gallery. THE FAREWELL EXHIBITION will open free to the public with an opening reception on Friday, October 13th, 6-8pm. It will run through November 18th. This exhibit is open to all clay members past and present. Please PM us for details.

The previously scheduled Wood-Soda firing in October WILL remain on the schedule, but there is limited access to the Ceramics Lab to accommodate this event. If you are planning to participate in the Soda firing in October, please PM us for pre-activity details.

If you receive the minutes from Clay Club meetings, I suggest you read those from our July 8, 2023 meeting. Everything you need to know regarding this announcement is there.

I want to thank everyone who has made the OC Clay Club a thriving, reputable opportunity for Olympic College to participate in the greater community through service projects, creative opportunities, and contributing to what has become a large and solid foundation on which future clay-related activities can continue. Sharing the traditions and exploration of all things clay for our community has always been the mission of the OCCC. You have been the best of partners during these 15 years and I am proud to be among you.
