At Suffolk County Community College, we proudly serve close to 600 military-connected students each year and have a long history of assisting veterans not only in maximizing their benefits, but also in supporting a successful transition to college life and achieving their educational and personal goals. The transition from military service to civilian life can be a critical period in the life of student veterans and their families and Suffolk embraces the leadership skills and many other unique qualities military service members bring to our institution. The combination of resources, institutional support, student community and personalized attention you will receive while enrolled at Suffolk makes it an excellent place to begin your academic career or continue your studies. In recognition of Suffolk County's Veterans Su***de Awareness and Remembrance Day, we dropped down for a round of 22 push ups in the cafeteria. The first round started a ripple affect, and more and more students came to do their push ups. Most importantly, awareness was spread and an impact was made.

Thank you to all who came to show support and help us fight against veteran su***de!

Amazing day hosting honoring ten years of fighting against veteran su***de. One team, one fight.

03/27/2026

It all started on April 2, 2016.
3,653 days. Not one day missed.
Why???
Because after 10 years of 22+1 push-ups, that number becomes
84,019…
Every single one of those push-ups is equivalent to a life.
A family member.
A friend.
A coworker.
THIS IS REAL.
We must work TOGETHER to make it stop!
PLEASE SHARE AND JOIN US for this important day of awareness 🇺🇸
