🎓 Student Spotlight: Muhammad Ovais Yusuf ’26

Meet Muhammad, a graduate student pursuing his M.S. in Computer Science at Bridgewater State University.

With interests in artificial intelligence, computer vision and machine learning, Muhammad has used his graduate experience to explore how emerging technologies can be applied to real-world problems. From research and hands-on projects to building and testing new ideas, his time at BSU has allowed him to turn concepts from the classroom into practical solutions.

For Muhammad, that process is what graduate study is all about:

“For me, graduate study is about turning what I learn into something I can actually build, test and improve.”

🎓✨ Graduate Ambassador Student Spotlight: Meet Ciarra!

This week, we’re excited to spotlight Ciarra, a graduate student in Bridgewater State University’s Educational Leadership, Higher Education Administration Concentration
master’s program and a full-time Administrative Assistant in BSU’s Department of Management and Marketing.

After working at the first position she received BSU as an Administrative Assistant in Residence Life and Housing for two years, Ciarra began hearing positive experiences from coworkers who had completed the program. Knowing that she wanted to continue building her career within higher education, she decided that pursuing her master’s degree would be the perfect next step in her professional and educational journey.

Her degree also represents an important personal milestone: Ciarra will be the first person in her immediate family household to earn a master’s degree. 🎓❤️

After completing her first year in the program, Ciarra took a year away from her studies to focus on a brand-new role—becoming a first-time mom! She returned to the program this past summer after having some time in her new department now in Management and Marketing completing her degree in May 2027.

As a full-time employee and mom to a toddler, Ciarra especially appreciates the flexibility of the online program. Being able to complete her coursework online has allowed her to continue pursuing her educational and career goals while balancing work, school, motherhood, and everyday life.

Her journey is a reminder that everyone’s path through graduate school can look different. Taking time away, navigating major life changes, or moving at your own pace doesn’t mean giving up on your goals.

💬 In Ciarra’s words:
“Becoming a mom changed my timeline, not my goals. I want my daughter to grow up knowing that no matter what season of life you’re in, your goals are still worth pursuing.”

We’re proud to have Ciarra as one of our Graduate Ambassadors and can’t wait to celebrate with her when she crosses the finish line in May 2027! ❤️🎓
