11 Years of Learning, Values, and Growth!

Founded on October 5, 2015, the English Language Learners Center of Cabo Verde (ELLCV) has grown from one classroom of 15 students into a vibrant community of 500 learners.

Our journey is built on a unique educational vision: combining English language learning with the development of core human values. Through our founder’s distinctive curriculum, students learn not only to communicate confidently in English but also to practice Respect, Empathy, Cooperation, Friendship, Positive Thinking, Persistence, and Achievement.

Our House system builds belonging, motivation, and healthy competition, encouraging students to grow, overcome challenges, and progress through their learning journey.

As we celebrate 11 years, we honor every student, teacher, and family who has contributed to our story.

Our mission remains the same: to teach English, nurture values, inspire achievement, and empower a generation to make a positive difference in the world.

Professor João Rosa’s Cape Verdean language students, visited the Institute this morning to learn more about Cabo Verde & a Música – Museu Virtual, a project by Dr. Glaucia Nogueira developed in collaboration with the Institute.

As part of their coursework, students will develop final projects exploring Cabo Verdean music, drawing inspiration from the rich musical heritage and resources featured in the virtual museum.
