💙 In Memory of Dr. Geraldo “Gerry” Matos
It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of our colleague and friend, Dr. Geraldo “Gerry” Matos, Associate Professor of Marketing in the Mario J. Gabelli School of Business at Roger Williams University.
For over a decade, Gerry inspired our community with his energy, creativity, and care. Whether teaching Marketing, Sports Marketing, or Advertising, he brought real-world insight and heart to every class. As faculty advisor to the RWU American Advertising Federation (AAF), he led students to national success — including a first-place win in the 2020 National Student Advertising Competition. Beyond his professional accomplishments, Gerry will be remembered for his humor, kindness, and generosity. He touched countless lives and will be deeply missed.
A memorial service celebrating his life will be held on Friday, November 14, 2025, from 1:00–2:30 p.m. in the North Campus Residence Hall Great Room at Roger Williams University, Bristol campus.
