Summer is here! That means it is time for summer camps. We are offering two great experiences to join the School of Performing Arts this summer.

Young Band Members Camp
June 8-12
Open to those who have complete one or two years of band instruction.
$90

Theatre & Dance Exploration Camp
July 13-15
Open to students in 6ht-12th grade who want to learn more about all aspects of theatre and dance.

This isn't your typical event 👇

This multidisciplinary event combines the talents of four SDSU departments and features live dance performances, evolving paintings created on-site, live music and wearable art that moves through the crowd.

But the real focus is the audience. Visitors won’t just watch, they’ll participate. Attendees can expect hands-on opportunities to create their own artwork, contribute to collaborative pieces, and even leave with something they’ve made.

The South Dakota State University Choirs are proud to announce that Dr. Andrew Robinette will succeed Dr. Laura Di**le as the new Paul E. and Doris J. Moriarty Endowed Professor of Choral Activities.

This morning, Drs. Kessler, Robinette, and Wallace were on hand as representatives of the School of Performing Arts at Fine Arts Signing Day for Lincoln High School in Sioux Falls. We’re delighted to see so many talented future Jackrabbits who will join us in Fall 2026!

Featuring South Dakota State University Choirs, the SDSU Civic Symphony, and the South Dakota State University Wind Symphony, along with alumni of The Statesmen, this patriotic celebration is not to be missed!

Ready to dust your instrument off and join the band again?

CommUniversity Band is open to anyone who wants to continue to make music.

First Meeting: Thursday, January 15th @ 6PM (we will not be playing)
First Rehearsal: Thursday, January 22nd @ 6PM
Concert: Sunday, April 26th @2:30pm

Bring along a friend or two. We are always looking for more oboes, bassoons, clarinets, horns, and tubas to help fill out the band.
