In its first full year of operation, the West River Health Science Center, a nursing pathway partnership between Black Hills State University and South Dakota State University, graduated 122 registered nurses across two classes. Many nominations were received, but the outstanding SDSU clinical instructor is... Samantha Williams!

Samantha started as a temporary clinical teaching assistant for South Dakota State - College of Nursing in the Fall of 2025, & her students have commented that she creates an environment that feels safe, supportive, & genuinely empowering. Congrats, Samantha! 💙

Students held an ice cream social at Westhills Village in Rapid City. Tables were full, and the waiting line extended down the hallway! 🍦Students shared their experiences and plans for the future with the residents.
