Assistant Professor Nana Obayashi and PhD student Daniil Filimonov built WorMa, a worm-like robot that pumps water between its head and tail to crawl, climb steps and swim with the same gait, TechEBlog reported.

Industry Assistant Professor Anton Rozhkov and Class of 2025 master's students Pranav Nitin Motarwar & Rudra Patil developed a geospatial artificial intelligence (GeoAI) framework that combines traffic forecasting, spatial mapping and a locally hosted large language model. Rozhkov led the project and designed the framework, with Motarwar leading the forecasting work and Patil the spatial analysis. The system was tested using 15 years of New York City traffic data.

TMA The Hazardous Goods Companion (Germany) - RFID and AIoT inventory visibility and predictive inventory management solution.

Vital Ocean (Oregon, US) - Intelligence platform combining ocean data, marine environment, and decision interface.

The Hub is led by Urban Future Lab at NYU Tandon School of Engineering and the National Offshore Wind Research and Development Consortium (NOWRDC) in collaboration with New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) and New York City Economic Development Corporation (NYCEDC). The Innovator Program is also supported by Equinor, Ørsted and Vestas.

Yesterday, Mayor Zohran Kwame Mamdani announced new New York University Quantum Fabrication Facility, a first-of-its-Kind partnership to give NYC a stake in emerging industry.

Mayor Zohran Kwame Mamdani, Deputy Mayor for Economic Justice Julie Su and NYCEDC President and CEO Anthony Shorris today announced the city will award $29.2 million to New York University (NYU) to establish a cutting-edge Quantum Fabrication Facility (QFab), putting New York City at the front of the emerging quantum technology field.

As part of the Mamdani administration’s investment, the city will receive board seats at QFab as well as a stake in new technologies that emerge from QFab, a first-of-its-kind agreement that will allow the City to help shape this emerging technology for the public good.
