LIU Brooklyn Visual Arts Program

LIU Brooklyn Visual Arts Program Nestled in the heart of Downtown Brooklyn, we offer a BFA in Studio Art, a BA in Visual Art, and a BFA in Art Education.

The Brooklyn Campus of Long Island University is located in Downtown Brooklyn, minutes from major museums and galleries in New York City. The Visual Arts majors enjoy small classes with personal guidance from the art faculty who are professional artists, art historians and art therapists. We offer internships in museums and galleries. In addition, classes in glass can be taken at nearby Urban Glas

s (www.urbanglass.org). Our sky lighted studios are atop the Humanities building, enjoying panoramic views of Manhattan and Brooklyn. Two large terraces are used for studio space in good weather. Courses are offered in Drawing, Painting, Ceramics, Sculpture, Printmaking (traditional and digital), Calligraphy, Glass, Artist Books, Color Theory, Art Therapy, Art History, Art Education and Photography.

Bio:
Amanda Quaid is an actor, writer, and LIU faculty member. Recently selected to be trained by former US vice-president Al Gore as part of the Climate Reality Leadership Corps, Amanda is dedicated to exploring our climate crisis through writing and art.
