Saturday, October 24, the Theistic Science Symposium comes to campus!
Co-hosted by BACNC and the Swedenborg Scientific Association, this yearβs program, "Thought from the Understanding Opens the Eye", explores how spiritual truth and scientific understanding illuminate one another, and what it means to see with both the understanding and the eye.
Sessions run 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. in the Pendleton Hall Auditorium, with pre-symposium coffee and pastries starting at 8:00 a.m. Drop in for a session or two, or stay for the full day!
Hereβs a preview of the program, which ends with a panel featuring several of our own scholars:
-From Blindness to Belief: Chapter Nine of the Gospel of John (Curtis McQueen)
-Creation and Views on Influx, with audience Q&A (Dr. Ian Thompson)
-Twofold Sight: The World Around Us Explained by the Laws of Order and Influx Inscribed on the Nature of All Real Things (Rev. Andrew Heilman)
-Visual Causation: Seeing with Spiritual Eyes (Rev. Dr. Reuben Bell)
-The Doctrine of Reflections and the Evolution of Neural Networks (Dr. Stephen Smith)
-Panel Discussion with Rev. Matthew Genzlinger, Prof. Ethan King, and Dr. Aram Yardumian.
