Founded in 1890, West Virginia Wesleyan College is a private residential college that is affiliated with The United Methodist Church. The College has 1,400 students and offers 49 majors and 34 minors along with graduate programs in athletic training, business administration, English creative writing, and nursing. Wesleyan is proud to support 22 varsity programs within the athletic department, regi

onally-renowned performing arts groups, intramurals, outdoor recreation, nine national fraternities and sororities, religious life, over 70 campus organizations, and the Center for Community Engagement & Leadership Development.

The West Virginia Athletic Trainers Association recently inducted two people with long-time ties to West Virginia Wesleyan College, Dr. Jean Fruh and Dr. Rae Emrick ‘95, into the WVATA Hall of Fame at its spring meeting held in Buckhannon.

Along with that, three WVWC students placed first in the WVATA 2026 Quiz Bowl – Shelby Genes ’26, Nicholas Gerosa ’26 and Hannah Murphy ’26, earning the honor to represent WVATA and WVWC at the MAATA District 3 Quiz Bowl.
