Denim Day has become an opportunity to make a social statement with a fashion statement and wear jeans as a visible means of protest against misconceptions that surround sexual assault. More than that, it’s a day when we can come together and make a difference. Today, we gathered a month’s worth of donated items from across our 3 campuses and assembled so many Comfort Kits we couldn’t fit them all in one van! As we observe Sexual Assault Awareness Month, we must honor the truth that survivor experiences are not one-size-fits-all. Trauma doesn’t follow a script, and neither does recovery.
