Phi Alpha Delta (PAD) Alden Chapter

Phi Alpha Delta (PAD) Alden Chapter Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity's Alden Chapter at University at Buffalo School of Law serves the student, the school, the profession, and the community.

Named after the former dean of the University at Buffalo School of Law, the Carlos C. Alden chapter of Phi Alpha Delta has been an active body in the law school since its founding in 1968. This page is meant to facilitate communication between members, officers, and interested law students, and to serve as a general information hub.

Did you know P.A.D’s current, national leadership is predominantly female? Did you know that this biennium marks the most women serving in leadership positions simultaneously in our fraternity history?

The current Executive Office staff is 88% female, the International Executive Board is 60% female, and 60% of P.A.D. District Justices are also women. We are proud to make for P.A.D. in 2021 and look forward to continuing to diversify our leadership.

Please consider applying to a volunteer or leadership position in P.A.D. by visiting www.PAD.org/volunteers

The Alden Chapter stands with its brothers and sisters against the hateful and violent attack on the Capitol last week. As lawyers and future lawyers, we need to stand up for the rule of law and for PAD's core values. It is through devotion to the ideals of Integrity, Compassion, Courage, Professionalism, Service, Diversity, and Innovation that we better both our profession and our community.

Happy Founders' Day to all of our PAD brothers and sisters, Alden Chapter and beyond! PAD is 118 years old today.

Founders' Week runs from 11/6 until 11/13. Each day will have different events (including an ongoing 58 hour Zoom happy hour). We will also observe our 4th annual Founders' Day of Giving on Tuesday, 11/10. Please give whatever you can! You can support important PAD initiatives like:

- PAD's new Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee
- The Inspiration Fund, which helps law school and prelaw chapters put on innovative and inspirational events
- The Wakanda Fund, to help fund Black PAD members to attend the biennial Convention
- PAD Mock Trial

And more! Give what you can to support these, and other, important PAD initiatives!

Phi Alpha Delta’s 118th Founders’ Day is November 8, 2020. In honor of our founding day, P.A.D. will host the inaugural Founders’ Week celebration from November 6-13, 2020.
