researcher are using concepts found in DNA to enhance the functionality of chiral semiconductors — electronic materials whose structures are left- or right-handed, that absorb visible light.

assistant professor Dave Tsai is co-author on the recent study, describing a material that can both detect the handedness of light and respond to visible light.

This work has been featured by Open Access Government and Tech Xplore.
