Congratulations, Dr. Morrow!

Please consider donating to and/or sharing the information and link below about the Campbell University Phillip J. Morrow Endowed Scholarship for Choral Excellence!

Thank you, Dr. Morrow for your leadership and dedication to Campbell for the past 28 years! Happy retirement! 🎉

About the Endowment:
The Phillip J. Morrow Scholarship for Choral Excellence honors the lifelong dedication of Dr. Phillip J. Morrow to choral music, conducting, and the pursuit of musical excellence. For 28 years, Dr. Morrow has shaped generations of singers and conductors as Associate Professor of Music and Director of Choral Activities at Campbell University. Under his leadership, Campbell’s choral ensembles have performed across the United States and internationally, with tours to South Korea, England and Wales, Italy, Ireland, and Scotland—sharing the power of choral music with audiences around the world. He has also led performances at some of the world’s most renowned stages, including Carnegie Hall.
Beyond the concert stage, Dr. Morrow’s influence can be heard in classrooms, churches, and concert halls across the country through the countless students he has mentored. Many of his former students now serve as music educators at every level—from elementary classrooms to universities—as well as ministers of music leading vibrant church music programs nationwide. His commitment to nurturing young musicians has also extended to initiatives such as the Campbell Children’s Choir Camp, now entering its 25th summer, helping introduce new generations to the joy and discipline of choral singing.
Established by his loving family together with many of the students he has mentored over the years, the Phillip J. Morrow Scholarship for Choral Excellence will support future Campbell University students as they pursue their musical education. By helping talented young musicians develop their artistry and leadership, this scholarship continues Dr. Morrow’s enduring legacy—cultivating excellence in choral music and inspiring the educators and musical leaders of tomorrow.

The Campbell University Choir and Campbell Voices had the opportunity over the last two days to sing at South Johnston High School as well as the Brunswick Baptist Association in Oak Island! We had the opportunity on Thursday afternoon to sing for the Beginning and Intermediate Choirs at South Johnston High School, under the direction of Mr. Whitaker! We then traveled down later on Thursday to Oak Island to prepare to sing for the 125th Brunswick Baptist Association Homecoming Meeting on Friday! On Friday morning, we sang some sacred anthems as well as had members Karis Sullivan (Alto, Piano Pedagogy, ‘26) and Nic Stembridge (Bass, Organ, Church Music, ‘27) offer instrumental preludes and interludes during our portion of the meeting! We are thankful to the Brunswick Baptist Association for offering us this opportunity and their generous hospitality the last two days! 🎶
